More Ways to Help!

The Dripping Springs Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (tax ID #74-2913771).
Donations to the DSCF are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Give to the DSCF General Fund

Direct gifts to the DSCF may be made for unrestricted use or for grants to non-profits supported by the DSCF.  Such gifts may be made by check or credit card through PayPal. (See "Make A Donation" button above) Checks should be mailed to DSCF, P.O. Box 1684, Dripping Springs, TX  78620.

Create a Donor-Advised Fund
Individuals and businesses may establish a Donor Advised Fund with a beginning donation of $5,000 or more, with the donor receiving a tax deduction for the full amount up to the extent allowable by law.  Once established, t
he donor may request that the DSCF issue grants to organizations they wish to assist.  The DSCF does the due diligence in determining the eligibility of the organizations and then issues the grants. These funds are invested by the Austin Community Foundation.  For information, please contact the DSCF at [email protected].

Give Scholarship Funds
Funds may be established for all levels of education and a variety of educational needs.  Scholarships established by the fund are paid directly to the school, not to the person to whom it is awarded.  DSCF currently administers the Dripping Springs/Wimberley Girl Scout Scholarship Fund.

Increase Our Endowment
The DSCF is the beneficiary of an Endowment Fund first established by Dr. Harvey and Gloria Evans.  The Fund is invested by the Austin Community Foundation.  Annually, the DSCF draws 5% of the end-of-year asset balance for issuing grants to local non-profit organizations.   Donors wishing to make a legacy gift of life insurance, bequest, or outright donation may contribute to this existing Fund or establish a new one.  For information on how to do this, please contact the DSCF at [email protected].

Include the DSCF in Your Estate Planning

Finally, you may include a gift to the Foundation or any of its funds as part of your estate plan. Life insurance offers an easy and affordable way to create a community legacy with tax-deductible dollars used to pay premiums.  At your death, the proceeds will be paid to the DSCF for grants at its discretion or may be allocated to the Dripping Springs nonprofit organizations of your choice. This type of policy provides a low-cost means for making a substantial and significant contribution simply by paying a modest one time or annual premium.

Donate to Flood Relief and Recovery Efforts
Our hearts go out to our Central Texas neighbors affected by the recent devastating weather events. While Dripping Springs was largely spared, many communities are in urgent need of support.  The Dripping Springs Community Foundation and the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce have partnered to facilitate donations for recovery efforts. We invite you to join us. All funds collected will go directly to the Kerr County Flood Recovery Fund at the Community Foundation for the Texas Hill Country, a nonprofit public charity. This fund distributes aid to nonprofits, first responders, and local governments actively involved in flood relief and recovery efforts.  The Dripping Springs Community Foundation accepts donations of any size and provides written acknowledgements for tax purposes. You can donate by clicking the DONATE button above or by mailing a check to the Foundation at PO Box 1684, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.  Please note "disaster fund" on your donation.

ONE OTHER THING WE DO TO ASSIST DONORS AND POTENTIAL DONORS:

Minimum Continuing Legal Education
The DSCF provides ongoing education for lawyers and accountants on the benefits of legacy gifts, the tax advantages of establishing Donor Advised Funds for clients wishing to have a lasting impact by working with a Community Foundation, and the legal ethics of working with a non-profit organization.
